Use the [Government of Canada’s visa checker](https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/visit-canada/check-visa-eta.html). Select “Travel through Canada to another destination (transit)” and answer the questions about your passport and journey.

Even a short stop may require a transit visa or an electronic travel authorization (eTA), depending on your nationality and circumstances. You may also qualify to transit without either. A transit visa generally covers eligible air connections of 48 hours or less. A longer stay or a visit may require a visitor visa. See the [official transit guidance](https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/visit-canada/transit.html).

I can help you interpret the requirements if you share which country issued your passport, your route, and how long you’ll be in Canada.
